What is the difference between Merchant Currency Conversion and Dynamic Currency Conversion?

Modified on Mon, 19 Feb at 8:55 AM

Merchant Currency Conversion (MCC) is an added feature, where the merchant can choose the currency for the customer depending on their location or the merchant’s preference.

Dynamic Currency Conversion (DCC), on the other hand, is also an added feature where the customers can choose to pay in the currency of their choice from the list of currencies available at Tap.

Both of these features are available at Tap and can be enabled using our APIs as needed by the merchant.

The ideal flow would be to use both MCC and DCC so that the customer is automatically shown their local currency based on their location but with the option to change currencies if they want to.

In any case, you can have a detailed look at the APIs for both MCC and DCC and try it out for yourself. If you have any other questions about MCC or DCC, you can always message our customer experience agents through the live chat available on the Tap website or goCollect app.
